BERNIER AND DORRE ISLANDS.

Mr. Supervisor Rudd, who was over at the Islands some two or three weeks ago, informs as that the whole of the jetty at Dorre Island was washed away in the blow in January, though there is a small portion of the material lying an the beach, washed up for about two miles round. There is very little left of the approaches to the jetty though they were buiit of stone.

There was no other material damaged done on the islands.

At the time of Mr. Rudd's visit there were 20 male aborigines on Bernier Island, of whom some 10 or 12 were ready to come away.

On Dorre Island there were 52 female aborigines.

Everything was nice and clean and well-kept. There is a fairly large enclosure for a garden, surrounded by a 10 ft. corrugated iron fence, and water is laid on everywhere round the wat^r is laid on everywhere round the quarters.
