PORT HEDLAND.

Constable H. H. Powell writes of Port Hedland:--Last year was a very dry one, station-owners reported that it was the driest they had experienced for the past sixteen years. The loss of sheep was very heavy, and many wells had to be deepened, as they were going dry. Fortunately there is now abundance of feed and water throughout the country, with every prospect of a good season, splendid rains having fallen throughout the district since January.
