Along the Gascoyne and Lyons Rivers there is no feed for horses. In places where a few weeks ago the herbage was sufficiently good to turn out on, the grubs have now almost destroyed it. If the dry season continues much longer it will be almost impossible for any but camel teams to cart without loss. One or two of the station owners are talking of holding back their wool this season, and not attempting to send it down for shipment till the tracks are in better condition for feed.
