REPORT OF FINDING.

DENIED BY COMPANY.

Perth, Monday.

The telegram received by the West Australian on Saturday from Cossack stating the Una found the Koombana five miles from Bedoubt[sic] Island with her masts standing out of water and the vessel on a reef which runs out from the island is contradicted emphatically by Mr. Moxon, of the Adelaide Steamship Co. He says the Una searched Bedout Island and found no trace of the wreck, but 33 miles W.N.W. of the island found the ship's boat mast and a quantity of wreckage, the captain's opinion being that the wreckage was coming up from the bottom.

The telegram referred to was received and published by us on Saturday. It was as follows:--

"The s.s. Una has returned to Roebourne, and reports having found the wreck of the Koombana five miles off Bedout Island, with her mast out of the water.

Although it is not so stated, evidently the Una did not discover any survivors on the island.
