OBITUARY
...
Mr. Seaborn C. R. Allen, who died at Hall-street, Semaphore, yesterday, had been connected with shipping at Port Adelaide for 30 years. He was born on the ship Schahjehan on April 29, 1862. He was born as the vessel was passing through a terrific storm off Cape Northumberland. The only woman on the ship besides Mrs. Allen was a girl of 13, who, with the steward, assisted Mrs. Allen. Captain Allen could not leave the bridge. When the family retired from sea life young Allen joined the staff of George Wills and Company, Limited, at Port Adelaide and remained with them until about ten years ago. Mr. Allen has left a widow.
