WESTERN AUSTRALIA.
A FATAL FALL.
PERTH, Sunday.
The inquest on the death of Francis Blackwell, who was killed at Fremantle on the 12th ultimo, by falling down the hatchway of the Marloo, has been concluded. The jury, disregarding the direction of the coroner, brought in a verdict to the effect that the deceased came to his death through the culpable neglect of Captain Allen, master of the steamer, and Mr Truscott, chief officer. Sergeant Houlahan applied for a warrant for the arrest of the captain and the chief officer on a charge of manslaughter, but it was not granted.
