Darlington, Thomas Henry died 23.12.1911

"A miner, who died as the result of a knife wound to the neck. He was born in England. Trouble was brewing between the miners and Thomas Darlington was at the forefront of the infant union movement. The unionists were united against so-called scab labour and blows were exchanged at Dunn's pub, where pre-Christmas festivities soon turned to violence. Unexpectedly, in a drunken rage, a Frenchman known as "Scab Seleno" drew a knife and stabbed Darlington. Constable Growden arrested Seleno and he was taken south to Roebourne jail.

"MAGINIUS Edward Peter, died 22.3.1912 aged 36 years on Depuch Island...He was born at Newry, Island - the son of Ellen Daly (nee RODGERS) and Thomas Joseph Maginius (solicitor). At the age of 25 years he married in Liverpool, England to Jennie RUSHTON. Then at the age of 31 years he remarried in Perth, Western Australia, to Maude FISHER. From the second marriage there was one daughter, Mollie Rodgers aged 2 years. He had lived in Queensland for 8 years and in Western Australia for 7 years."
