APRIL WEATHER.

GOVERNMENT ASTRONOMER'S REPORT.

The Government Astronomer, Mr. W. E. Cooke, reporting on the weather experienced during April, states that the principal feature of the month was of course the storm which caused so much damage to Cossack and the neighbourhood, on April 2. Its progress has been already traced in the notes for last month. The barometer fell to 28.26 at 3 p.m. on the 2nd of April at Cossack, and the rainfall was remarkably heavy. Cossack reports for the month (but all fell during the progress of the storm) 15.42 inches, Roebourne 14.66 inches, and Whim Creek about 36 inches.
