OBITUARY
Capt. P. C. Hurrell, who died in Adelaide recently after a short illness, was born in Hobart 75 years ago. He went to sea at an early
age. In 1904 he joined the Adelaide Steamship Co., and was on the s.s. Ferret in the Spencer Gulf trade, and was captain of the s.s. Bullara, Lameroo, and Koombana, with the north-west passage and cattle trade. In 1913 he joined the Spencer Gulf pilot service at Port Pirie, but during the war went back to sea again in the Australian-New Zealand trade on the Omana for about two years. After the war he again went to Port Pirie as a pilot until he retired from the service in 1937, when he left with his wife and family to live at Woodville Park. He leaves a widow, three sons and four daughters.
