A Protest
A deputation, representative of the Hedland and inland business people, waited on the local representative of the Adelaide S.S. Co. this week, a (sic) vehemently protested against the s.s. Koombana being allowed to pass the Port without calling at the jetty. It was urged that on the last occasion there was more than sufficient water for the vessel to come in on, and her neglect to do so had put back for a month valuable consignments of ore and stock, inflicting loss and inconvenience on the owners of the consignments. Mr Woodroffe promised to convey the representations to the Company, and hoped there would be no reason for future complaint.
