THE WARATAH.
Reported Message Found.
The following paragraph appeared in the Hamilton (Victoria) "Spectator" of December 14:--Notwithstanding the practical abandonment of the search for the ill-fated Waratah, there are still occasional gleams of hope piercing through the darkness of mystery, which makes most people loth to abandon entirely the expectation that she will yet return. A lady in tho town has just received a letter from the old country, in which the writer states that the English newspapers published an account of the finding of a bottle on the coast of the Isle of Wight about the beginning of November containing papers to the effect that the Waratah was water-logged. The papers are also presumed to have given the latitude and longitude of the vessel at the time the messenger was sent adrift; but the particulars were undecipherable.
