AN UNLUCKY STEAMER.
NORTH-WEST COAST MISHAPS
Perth, June 4.
Since the Adelaide S.S. Company's new mail and passenger steamer Koombana has been running in the North-West trade she has been very unfortunate. On her first trip north she was delayed for about 14 days on a sandbank in Sharks' Bay. The next voyage she struck an unknown object outside Broome, and on her last passage up the North-West coast she 'touched mud' at Geraldton. The agents now notify that the well-known Huddart Parker liner Burrumbeet will leave Fremantle on Wednesday next, taking the place of the Koombana in the North-West mail service. The latter vessel is to proceed to the east in the course of a day or two.
