At a gathering of the members of the literary staff of the "Morning Herald" yesterday a presentation was made to Mr. G. H. Romans, who had resigned the leadership of the staff to join the "West Australian" reporting staff. The editor, the sub-editor, and other members of the staff spoke in appreciative terms of Mr. Romans, who during his six and a half years' service on the paper had proved himself a brilliant journalist, a good leader, and one who by his charm of manner had endeared himself to all. Sincere regret was expressed at the severance of Mr. Romans from those with whom he had worked so long.
