BROOME NOTES.
Broome, August 8.
A most enthusiastic send-off was given to Mr. and Mrs. Archie Male, the retiring Mayor and Mayoress of Broome, on the eve of their departure for a prolonged visit to the Old Country.
...
Mr. H. D. Norman, J.P., of Messrs. Robison & Norman, has been elected unopposed as Mayor in place of Mr. Male.
The steam engine for traction work on the tramline is running, and is proving a boon in the clearing of the jetty and in the quick delivery of goods through the town.
The electric light was installed for the first time in Broome at the Roebuck Bay Hotel.
