["s.s. Koombana", The Northern Times (Carnarvon, WA), Saturday 23 January 1909, page 2]

S.s. Koombana.--Messrs. Baston and Coy., the local agents, advise that the s.s. Koombana sailed from Glasgow on December 30th for Fremantle, Adelaide, and Melbourne, via Capetown and Durban. She will take up the North-West running in lieu of the s.s. Bullarra, commencing with the trip leaving Fremantle on March 12 next. No expense has been spared in designing and fitting this vessel for the tropical climate of this coast. She will be commanded by our old friend and popular commnnder, Captain Rees, and we feel sure she will receive a full measure of support.
